Mauro Orsatti è nato a Brescia nel 1949 ed è sacerdote dal 1973. Dopo gli studi teologici nel Seminario di Brescia, si è specializzato in scienze bibliche a Roma, Gerusalemme e Monaco di Baviera, ed è Dottore in scienze bibliche al Pontificio Istituto Biblico di Roma. Dal 1976 insegna esegesi biblica allo Studio Teologico Paolo VI del Seminario di Brescia; dal 1992 è professore ordinario di esegesi del Nuovo Testamento alla Facoltà di teologia di Lugano (Svizzera). È professore invitato all'università di Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Facoltà di Teologia greco-cattolica, Dipartimento di Blaj.

Mauro Orsatti is an Italian catholic priest. After his philosophical and theological studies in Brescia, where he was born in 1949, he specialized in Sacred Scriptures in Rome, Jerusalem (Israel), and Munich (Germany), then graduated at Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome (SSL, SSD). Since 1976 he is teaching Biblical Studies at Paul VI's Theological Institute (diocesan Priest Seminary), Brescia (Italy). Since 1992 he is professor of New Testament, Faculty of Theology, Lugano (Switzerland). He is also visiting professor at Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca (Romania), on the Faculty of Greek-catholic Theology, department of Blaj. Up to now he has written twenty-seven books on biblical subjects, some of them translated into different languages, as well as several articles and dictionary entries. Since 1999 he is Bishop's vicar for Consecrated Life in Brescia, his native diocese. Announcing the Word of God by courses, lectures, spiritual retreats in many Countries, wide spread in the five continents, is to be considered a significant part of his mission.
